In todays post I want to share with you 3 locations in Canmore that are a balance of easily accessible paired with dramatic mountain views! This is perfect for jaw dropping scenery but also being very convenient for those who need easily accessible locations. No stress for your family and friends who want to join but might have limitations that don’t allow venturing to far, but still provide stunning Rocky Mountain views.

Quarry Lake: Easy Access with Dramatic Views

Only a 7-minute drive from the church and a mere 2-minute walk to the field, Quarry Lake is my go-to spot for family and wedding party videos. Its close proximity to a parking lot ensures easy access for guests. Despite its popularity, Quarry Lake offers a perfect mix of convenience and dramatic mountain views, ideal for capturing candid moments of your loved ones against the majestic backdrop.

Forest, Fields & Mountains: Just a short 5-7 minute drive from Downtown Canmore, you have so much room to play at this location. Just a heads up, it’s a dog park! However, there is also a seperate area that is not dog friendly providing you with vast, open fields with a dramatic mountain backdrop. You can play in the trees to get a moody forest look, or prance through the fields and have fun incorporating movement into your portrait session!

Water Element: If you have time, venturing down to Quarry Lake (the actual lake in this location) you can add the water element in. Giving for a clean, wavy background to switch it up from the mountain backdrop. Adding another layer of depth to your gallery!

Accessibility: The parking lot is directly beside the fields allowing for those who need easy access, to only require a 2 minute walk into the fields. This way you can get your family and friends + wedding party photos and film here with zero hassle and washrooms located on site as well.

Paid Parking: Be prepared to pay for your parking if you want to leave a vehicle at Quarry Lake for the duration of your portrait session. Price depends on time of season but can range anywhere from $5.00-$10.00/HR

Three Sisters View Point: A Trio of Beauty

Three Sisters View Point holds a special place in my heart for three distinct reasons:

Greenery & Forest Trail: Just a short 3-5 minute drive from Downtown Canmore, this location boasts a picturesque 10-minute walk through the forest. Filming against the lush greenery as you walk down the trail adds an enchanting touch to your video. The forestry during summer is thick pine trees and gives a beautiful touch of earthy color to your photos and film.

Water Element & Reflections: Here, you'll find a small pond that adds a tranquil water element to your footage, with the iconic Three Sisters mountain standing tall in the background. If we’re lucky and your day isn’t windy, we can also get reflections which are sooo dreamy!

Seclusion: Being less populated, Three Sisters View Point offers the space and privacy needed to capture intimate and memorable video moments.

Free Parking: Parking is free since you park at the dog park, parking lot!

Engine Bridge: Symmetry and Mountain Vistas

A quick 7-minute drive from Downtown Canmore and the church, Engine Bridge is a cinematic marvel. Here, you'll find a perfect blend of stunning brides and an epic mountain view overlooking the Bow River. Although it can get a bit busy, a brief 10-15 minute stop here can yield captivating video shots and add dynamic perspectives to your wedding film.

Greenery & Forest Trail: Just a short 2-4 minute drive from Downtown Canmore, this location gives you foresty and water alongside the bridge itself. Trees are lined up against the shore for the entire loop around the river giving you multiple options to play with!

Symmetry & Aesthetic Feel: This bridge is SO gorgeous with how beautiful the symmetry looks in photos. With leading lines left and right, when bringing the subject (you) into frame it looks so dreamy, so perfect, so in alignment.

Accessibility: The bridge is less than a 5 minute walk from parking on a well maintained trail making it easily for any and all to join at this location.
